It all started with some bee pollen.
During my first year of college, one of my friends had told me about his high school habit of eating a spoonful of bee pollen a day. Bee pollen is a superfood that boosts your immune system; this friend claimed that he’d never gotten sick when he was taking it regularly.
“That’s something I need in my life,” I told him. “Where can I buy it?”
“Robert is Here in Florida City,” he replied.
I took the pollen regularly throughout college and it indeed kept me from feeling weak or sick. Since then, I’ve been stopping by Robert is Here every time I pass through Florida City on my way to Miami. Despite being called a “fruit stand”, Robert is Here is actually a permanent establishment. There are tons of exotic fruits, homemade jams, and live animals running around. I love picking up a ton of bee pollen and getting a fresh cold coconut whenever I come here.
There are a bunch of coconuts floating in ice water by the door; you can ask the person at the register to cut a hole in the top so that you can have it right away. I like to enjoy mine while wandering around the premises.
There are so many cool fruits for sale:

My favorite part is actually the outside areas, where live animals are housed and tons of vintage vehicles are on display.
This place is a rare treat right before driving into the Everglades. Stop by if you get a chance! ♚
